When considering Ceramic Pro Shift, it’s essential to recognize that this is not just another high-quality color film; it’s a next-generation product with vastly improved visual and performance qualities compared to previous iterations you might have encountered. You don’t need extensive technical knowledge to appreciate the difference; understanding a few key points is sufficient to know why choosing Shift is an idea you will not regret.

Old Technology

Older generation technologies produced color films mainly through two methods: one involved adding a layer of colored vinyl to the film, and the other included pigments in the adhesive layer. While both methods allowed the creation of colored protective film, they had significant drawbacks that impacted the final product's quality.

  1. The first method, which involved a vinyl layer, posed installation challenges. Vinyl is significantly less elastic than TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane), the primary component of PPF, making the installation of such hybrid films very complicated. Applying this type of film requires high skill and extensive experience, which not all installers possess. Even highly qualified professionals may waste expensive materials due to errors. Consequently, finding a skilled installer can be quite difficult, often rendering the project nearly impossible if you want quality work without traveling extensive distances.

  2. If you are fortunate enough to find a qualified installer and manage a proper installation of the first type of colored film, you may be satisfied with the outcome. However, this cannot be said with confidence for the second type that utilizes color pigments in the adhesive base. Its weakness lies in color quality. The adhesive base is neither solid nor stable, making it challenging to distribute pigments evenly. Additionally, during installation, shifting and stretching of the film can further disrupt pigment distribution. As a result, after wrapping your car, the color may appear uneven, with possible stripes or spots of varying saturation. Moreover, there are limitations on the ratio of adhesive and pigments to ensure reliable adhesion, which often results in dull and unsaturated colors.

SHIFT Technology

The new generation of colored films boasts a composite structure, similar to the Kavaca ION CPF (Composite Protection Film), combining multiple layers of TPU with varying properties to achieve superior quality. The technological breakthrough here lies in the ability to evenly incorporate pigments into the TPU itself. This allows for the creation of film elements with specific properties that can be assembled in layers to achieve results unattainable with older film technologies.

Ceramic Pro Shift is constructed from three layers of TPU. The base layer can be either white or black, depending on the desired final color and shade. This thin layer serves as the foundation for creating the required color, while also acting as a barrier to the car's original paint color. The second layer contains pigments responsible for the film's color, which is available in over 360 variations and can potentially represent any color in general. Together, these two layers define the film's color. The final layer is a thick, clear TPU layer that provides protective qualities and shields the pigments from fading or changing color prematurely.

This innovative approach maintains the film's elasticity at a level consistent with TPU, allowing for easy installation akin to traditional PPF. Additionally, we do not dilute the adhesive, which enhances installation quality and improves the film's performance over time. Most importantly, we produce a high-quality film with uniform, vibrant colors across a wide palette to suit every preference—making it accessible for any protective film installer to work with.
